Propane Gas is a great buy in Arizona!
For new homes in this part of Arizona, most homeowners choose propane gas for heating their homes and hot water. In addition, many homemakers, (and professionals) prefer the instant on and off of and the temperature control of gas for cooking. In Rim country, drying clothes and bedding is always fast and efficient in gas dryers. Although Natural Gas is not available in this part of Arizona, propane gas is still about 1/2 to 1/3 less than electricity.

Why buy from SemStream Arizona Propane LLC?
Q. Propane is available from lots of dealers, why should I buy from SemStream?
Service! In Gila County, SemStream Arizona Propane LLC maintains the largest staff of trained field and office people ready to meet your energy service needs. We have people on call seven days a week, 24 hours a day to assist in any emergency.
Convenience! In all of SemStream's Arizona service area, when you call you talk to a person. We are here in Rim Country to meet your needs. If you are near our hundreds of miles of underground main, we can hook you up with a meter at your house and you will be billed monthly. If you are beyond our current underground system, you can lease a tank or sign up for metered tank service. All are energy service options designed to best fit your needs. You can take advantage of our many billing options such as Even Pay or our soon to be available Auto - Banking. Consumption histories as well as other internet accessible services are all in the foreseeable future.
Safety! Propane like any energy source needs to be treated with respect so that we can harness its energy in a safe and reliable manner. Our underground service is inspected annually by the Arizona Pipeline Safety Division of the Arizona Corporation Commission. Annually we inspect 25 percent of our total underground system for leaks. Each year we also inspect all of our commercial and school underground system for leaks. All of our field people are trained in the safe methods of working with propane. We work closely with all local, county, and state fire officials regarding inspections of our sites and methods.
Dollars! Every year, SemStream Arizona puts several million gallons of propane into storage. It allows us to buy gas in the off season and store it for the winter when the prices of energy are more volatile. This ensures our customers adequate supply as well as pricing that avoids the wild jumps seen in many winters. Because of this storage, and that underground pipes are a more efficient delivery system, our underground service over the past 5 to 7 years has consistently maintained a 10 to 15 percent discount from the other tank delivery companies. If you aren't located where our underground exists, we offer very competitive pricing with our tank delivered gas. In addition, we offer our customers the advantage of using a metered tank, which is like underground service you pay for the gas each month after you have used it. This differs from the basic tank service in which you pay for all of the gas delivered to your tank before you use any of it!

Is there a line locate number?
For a line location please call, 1 800 STAKEIT (1 800.782.5348)
Why do I need to Call?
Sometimes people feel this call isn't necessary since they're planning only minor digging projects such as setting a few fence posts or deep digging a garden. Over time, the freezing and thawing process can affect the depth of underground installations and the only way you can be assured of digging with complete safety is to call for a location. Even after you call and have the utility line located and marked, any digging around that line should be done by hand very carefully.
Costly and time consuming repairs can result from utility lines damaged during an excavation. You and your neighbors may be without utility service or faced with a hazardous situation until repairs can be made.

Q. Can Natural Gas equipment be converted to use propane?
A. Yes, in most cases. In all most all furnaces, it is a simple orifice change. In dryers, and some cook stoves the manufacturer provides a conversion kit or it can be ordered. Water heaters are usually not convertible and must be purchased for propane use. Our technicians are trained in conversions.

Q. I have always used natural gas to heat my house and for hot water. How is propane similar or different from natural gas?
A. Propane is a hydrocarbon not unlike natural gas. Propane is found in natural gas wells, and is produced from refineries. In Arizona, all propane comes from refineries. Propane contains about 2.5 times as much energy as an equal amount of natural gas.

Q. How does propane compare in cost to electricity or wood?
A. Although Arizona is undergoing deregulation in electricity, electric costs are more expensive than propane. Burning wood which was once very popular has fallen out of favor both for the clean up work and the difficultly and cost in getting wood.
